About the Book:
(A DEVOTIONAL STUDY OF BIBLICAL CONCEPTS)
First Published 2005
This book is to give to Christians, yearning and desiring the true and undiluted word of God; a study guide of sound Biblical Concepts. We are enjoined in the Bible to “search the scriptures, for in them you think ye have eternal life and they are they which testify of me” John 5 v39.
The will of the father is embedded in HIS words. To know His will we are compelled to study the words of God line-by-line and precept-by-precept. To grow deeper in the faith we also need to study the word of God; Apostle Paul charge the Christians in one of his epistle to Timothy, thus “study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babbling; for they will increased unto more ungodliness” 2nd Timothy 2v15-16. It was also recorded that the true art of nobility lies in the knowledge of the word of God, for example it was recorded for the brethren in the city of Berea that; “these was more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and search the scriptures daily whether those things was so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women, which were Greeks and of men, not a few” Act 17 v11-12.
We cannot attain unto perfection and reach the utmost height without the word of Gods, the word eliminate doubt and give us even more assurance of our salvation, the Bible recorded in 1st John 5v11-12 “and this is the testimony God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his son. He who has the son has life; he who doesn’t have the Son of God does not have life” It is indeed the study of the word of God that gives us the assurance of our salvation.
With the inspiration from the Holy Spirit divine, this book is divided into four(4) Chapters and a total forty-four (44) studies; structurally presented to the readers in a clear and simple manner. The indexing will help to simply locate a chapter and topic of interest to devotionally study based on the need of the hour.
Chapter 1 treats the concept of the “Ancient Land Marks” which is anchored on three major concepts – Salvation, Sanctification and Holy Ghost Baptism and some other solid foundations such as Repentance, Restitution and Assurance of Salivation to eliminate doubt. These indeed, are the very foundation and upon this pillar rest all others in Christendom.
Chapter 2 succinctly addressed the concept of Prayer in the Christendom. What is prayer; the acceptable prayers, personal and interceding prayers, praying in the spirit and “prayer and fasting” were dealt with. This is in a bid to give the readers understanding of what makes a prayer warrior and while a nominal/docile person is tossed to and fro by the devil and its cohorts because of ineffective prayer life!
Chapter 3 is devotionally and prayerful centered on “Christian Love and Marriage”. Marriage is one of the oldest institutions in the scripture and the choice of marriage you make will surely make or mar your faith! Determining where you will spend eternity. Many have gone into marriage half prepared or worse still unprepared! Hence there are tears and gnashing of teeth; this ought not to be. Marriage is to be blissfully enjoyed, without tears. I am persuaded you will receive revelations here!
Chapter 4 generally takes a peep into some topical issues which are quite debatable in Christendom with the hope of shedding more light on them, teaching Christians on how to deal with them, examples are: Christian remedy to life’s vanity, exemplary Christian living, biblical covenant and vow, tithe and offerings, consecration and submission in the church, temptation, trials and sufferings, faith and God’s covenantal inheritance.
From the foregoing, you would agree with me that this book is heavily loaded. So many Bible references has been provided so that Bible scholars, teachers and Bible student will find the book very useful both for personal study, home fellowship, family devotion, Bible studies or even Sunday school class. This book is indeed not for docile, lazy or visionless people; but the heavenly concisions and the earthly wise. I am persuaded a new dawn is about to begin in your life. You cannot devotional and prayerful study with me and remain the same! NOW, it is everyone’s chance to learn more about God, about the purpose of their existence, creation and life, about the prophets of God, and about His Holy Books; this is why this book is written to help us know more about our God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit divine and the life style in the Kingdom: the Christian call is indeed a call to Service!
I therefore prayerfully present this book to you in the hope that it would be used of God to bring a simple and clear understanding of his word, to inspire you to dig deeper into the study of the words of God with faith to receive the full benefits of the gospel for your body, soul and spirit.
